My approach
Therapy that meets you where you are
My approach is rooted in evidence-based care and a genuine understanding of each person I work with. I look beyond the symptoms to the thoughts, patterns and experiences underneath them, and help you build practical skills to address what's at the root. Because no two people are alike, I tailor this work to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all plan.
Working together
What sessions are like
Goals set together
We'll decide on goals as a team and adjust them as your needs change.
53-minute sessions
Available Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm.
One-on-one, for adults
Individual therapy focused fully on you.
Progress you can see
Short check-in questionnaires help us notice what's improving and adjust as we go.
Areas of focus
What I can help with
My main areas of focus are depression, trauma and PTSD, and life transitions. I also often support people with:
- Anxiety & worry
- Stress & overwhelm
- Procrastination & avoidance
- Grief & loss
- Relationships
- Self-esteem
- Coping skills
- Women's concerns
- Racial and cultural identity
- Work and school stress
Therapies I use
The two approaches at the center of my work
Both are backed by decades of research. You don't need to know anything about them before we start; I'll explain as we go.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
What it is
A practical approach that looks at how your thoughts, feelings and actions connect, and how small shifts can lead to meaningful change.
What it can help with
Anxiety, depression, worry, stress and the habits that keep you stuck.
What it looks like
We'll notice patterns together, try new ways of thinking and responding, and practice small steps between sessions.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
What it is
A skills-based approach that balances accepting where you are right now with working toward change.
What it can help with
Intense or hard-to-manage emotions, impulsive reactions and relationship conflict.
What it looks like
Learning concrete skills in mindfulness, managing distress, regulating emotions and communicating your needs.
Other approaches
Other tools I draw on
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
A structured, gentle approach for healing after trauma, focused on the beliefs that can keep painful experiences feeling stuck.
Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
Focuses on relationships and life changes, helping you navigate conflict, transitions and grief.
I also bring mindfulness-based, strength-based and culturally sensitive practices into our work when they fit.
New to therapy?
It's completely okay to feel unsure
For many people, this is their first time reaching out. You don't need the right words or a clear goal to begin. In our first sessions, we'll get to know how you think, feel and respond to things, and we'll shape goals together. As your needs change, our work will change with them.
You're always welcome to ask questions, go at your own pace, and tell me what is or isn't working.
